Executive Summary
U.S. Customs Service agents and New York City Police officers seize 1,000 bottles of counterfeit fragrances valued at $50,000 in a series of raids, Customs announces. Bottles bearing the Obsession, Aramis, Estee Lauder, Giorgio, Lauren and Polo names and cartons of flattened perfume boxes with the Polo, Lauren, Nina Ricci and Drakkar Noir labels were seized. Two people were arrested and charged with allegedly trafficking counterfeit merchandise and were arraigned in the U.S. Attorney's office, Southern District of NY. There will be a preliminary hearing in the case Jan. 12
