SUNSCREENS MAY NOT PROTECT AGAINST UV-INDUCED MELANOMA GROWTH, WOLF ET AL. concluded in a study published in the Jan. 19 issue of the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. The researchers, Peter Wolf, MD, et al., of the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, found that although the sunscreens tested prevented sunburn in mice, they "failed to protect against UV radiation-induced increase in melanoma incidence."
