ELF SANOFI 1993 PERFUMES AND BEAUTY PRODUCTS SALES NEARLY DOUBLE, rising 97.7% to FFr 3.9 bil., or $662.2 mil. based on a Dec. 31 exchange rate of FFr 5.894 = $1, the firm announced recently. The gain was due primarily to the May acquisition of Yves Saint Laurent Groupe by Elf Sanofi in a stock swap ("The Rose Sheet") Jan. 25, 1993, p. 1). Sanofi noted that perfumes and beauty products sales were up 10.3% on a comparable basis. Perfumes and Beauty Products division sales comprise revenues from Sanofi Beaute as well as from Elf Sanofi's equity interest in Nina Ricci and Yves Rocher.
