Executive Summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Board of Directors is scheduled to vote March 25 on a proposal setting standards for advertisements on buses, subways and in subway stations. The standards would prohibit ads that are "obscene," contain "images or descriptions" that cannot be sold to minors and "visual representations that depict nudity." The guidelines are intended to prevent "unwanted and compelled confrontations" with ads that may be illegal under New York Penal Law, MTA said
