Executive Summary
HB 1202 becomes law April 20. Effective July 1, 1995, the law bans sale in the state of any packaging, packaging component or product contained in packaging to which the heavy requires that the total concentration of those heavy metals in packaging be reduced to 600 ppm by July 1, 1995, 250 ppm by July 1996 and 100 ppm by July 1997. Exempted are packages manufactured before July 1, 1995, those that must include heavy metals to comply with safety requirements, and those that exceed the specified levels only due to inclusion of recycled materials
