Fall/Winter '94/'95 fragrance trends

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

For day, women will favor "lush, natural-smelling floral fragrances [that] are light yet tenacious," as well as fruity fragrances, the Fragrance Foundation predicts. For evening, floral orientals and "romantic and sensuous floral bouquets beginning with bright florals and ending with 'edible' notes (such as vanilla or caramel) and warm notes of musk" are expected to be popular. The foundation believes that the future of non-alcoholic fragrances is "limited," projecting that it will be "slow growing at best, spurred most by environmental and packaging concerns." Men will choose for daytime wear fougeres, herbs, marine and "outdoorsy" scents as well as women's scents, the foundation says. "Masculine orientals with herbaceous, woody accents" are among the men's fragrance types predicted to be most popular for evening
