Executive Summary
Federal judge Edward Rafeedie denies S. C. Johnson's request for dismissal of a complaint filed against the firm by Dep March 2 in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. The suit, related to Dep's purchase of the Agree and Halsa hair care brands from S. C. Johnson last August, makes claims against S. C. Johnson including fraud, breach of contract, material failure of consideration and mutual mistakes of fact ("The Rose Sheet" March 14, p. 4). According to Dep, the judge holds that Dep's "claims are sustainable" and is allowing the firm to proceed with all of the claims in the lawsuit. S. C. Johnson filed its motion to dismiss March 23 ("The Rose Sheet" May 2, p. 1)
