Executive Summary

Wins federal court order temporarily prohibiting Chatsworth, CA-based Silueta Distributors and its president Stanley Klavir from claiming that "Sistema Silueta" cream or tablets will break down, reduce or eliminate cellulite or fat. The order, issued July 11 by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, also prohibits Silueta from using deceptive endorsements or testimonials. The order is effective pending the litigation outcome. Silueta advertised the products on Univision, a national Spanish-language TV network, according to FTC's November 1993 complaint ("The Rose Sheet" Nov. 29, p. 11)
