Executive Summary
GUCCI ACCENTI IS FIRST NEW GUCCI WOMEN'S SCENT TO DEBUT IN 10 YEARS in the U.S., according to New York City-based Stern Fra-grances, the U.S. distributor for the Gucci brand. Gucci No. 3 bowed in the U.S. in 1985 and Eau de Gucci, the oldest fragrance in the portfolio, was relaunched in the U.S. in 1993. As part of an effort to re-establish Gucci's exclusive image, Accenti will be priced at the high-end of the prestige fragrance market and distribution will be limited to under 75 doors in the first year. Accenti, which is bowing now in the 30 Gucci boutiques, will rollout to Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman in August.
