INTIBRANDS' BATH & BODY WORKS EXPECTS TO ADD 340 STORES IN 1995-96 as part of a store expansion program for the five-year-old chain, which also includes building larger new stores and enlarging current retail sites, the company said in a May 23 preliminary prospectus. Locations for the new stores will include regional malls as well as some "alternative" sites such as metropolitan street locations, urban specialty centers and neighborhood and community malls in small and mid-sized cities, Intibrands said. Bath & Body Works' average new store size has grown from approximately 1,650 sq. ft. in 1992 to 2,600 in 1994. The chain also plans to test a 4,000 sq. ft. format.
