Jean Philippe U.S. unit registers 56% second quarter sales gain attributable to Cutex.

JEAN PHILIPPE SECOND QUARTER U.S. OPERATIONS REVENUES JUMP 56% largely due to the sales of the recently acquired Cutex brand lip color and nail polish, the New York City-based firm announced Aug. 8. The firm licensed the U.S. rights to the Cutex line from Chesebrough-Pond's in May 1994 ("The Rose Sheet" April 3, p. 9). Sales from U.S. operations also include products exported from the United States, Jean Philippe noted. At the end of 1994, the U.S. unit accounted for 64.4% of the firm's business
