Executive Summary
PROCTER & GAMBLE SLANDER SUIT TARGETS AMWAY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER for "spreading false and malicious statements connecting P&G with satanism," P&G announced. The lawsuit, filed Aug. 28 in U.S. District Court of Utah, alleges that "high ranking `diamond level'" Amway distributor Randy Haugen "knowingly and intentionally slandered, libeled and defamed [P&G] by publishing false, malicious and nonprivleged statements" in the states of Utah and Nevada that "disparage [P&G's] products, business interests, reputation and goodwill." Haugen recently co-chaired the business operations committee of the Amway Distributors Association Council and currently sits on its executive committee.
