FDA ESTIMATES ABOUT 10,000 AHA ADVERSE REACTION INCIDENTS have been received by cosmetics companies since 1989, according to a Feb. 22 analysis of in-house data on alpha hydroxy acids. According to the agency, FDA has received 97 consumer reports of adverse reaction to AHA-containing products at the agency's Washington, DC headquarters and nationwide field offices, and through FDA's MedWatch program.
