Executive Summary
GLYCOLIC, LACTIC ACIDS "MODESTLY USEFUL" IN IMPROVING SUN DAMAGED SKIN at concentrations of 8%, according to a study published in the June issue of the Archives of Dermatology. Conducted by Matthew Stiller, MD, et al., Massachusetts General Hospital, the study found that "topical 8% glycolic acid and 8% l-lactic acid creams are modestly useful in ameliorating some of the signs of chronic cutaneous photodamage." The trial was funded, in part, by Unilever Research.
