JPMS filed a breach of contract action against Hair 2001 owners Van Strickland, Dominique Nguyen and Hong Tran in Orange County, Calif. Superior Court after the company found they were selling Paul Mitchell hair care products at "swap meets" falling outside of the distribution contract Hair 2001 had entered into with JPMS. Under the July 23 ruling, the defendants also must pay $25,000 in contractual and fraud damages and an additional $13,621 in attorneys' fees and investigation costs, JPMS said.
