J&J NEUTROGENA FACIAL CLEANSERS FASTEST GROWING BRAND with sales of $29 mil. in the overall $359.4 mil. facial cleanser market in U.S. food, drug and mass merchandisers for 1996, according to Information Resources, Inc. (Chicago). With sales up 46.5%, Johnson & Johnson's Neutrogena far outpaced gains by other brands in the segment. Neutrogena facial cleansers' sales gain pushed the brand to third place in the sales ranking, displacing Procter & Gamble's Oil of Olay (4th), J&J's Clean & Clear (5th), Bristol-Myers Squibb's Sea Breeze (6th) and Alberto-Culver's St. Ives (7th) cleansers.
