Executive Summary
FDA appropriations: Total budget allocation for FDA for FY 1998 (beginning Oct. 1) is $944 mil., up from $921 mil. in fiscal 1997, according to figures released at a budget appropriations markup of the House Appropriations Committee/Agriculture Subcommittee June 25 and adopted by voice vote. The Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, which includes FDA's Office of Cosmetics and Colors, was allocated a $12 mil. increase from 1997.
