PERFUME/EDTs TARGETED AS CHRISTMAS GIFTS BY 90% OF FRAGRANCE BUYERS UNDER 25, according to survey results released by The Fragrance Foundation at its Holiday Countdown 1997 meeting in New York City Dec. 2. Of the 199 survey respondents in the under-25 age group, perfumes and eau de toilettes were the fragrance item cited the most as potential gifts for the holiday season, followed by bath products with 79.1% responding, and home fragrances (38.2%). The Fragrance Foundation collected survey data from 900 participants across five age groups gathered from responses to the foundation's advertising campaign and from Fragrance Fun Week. The survey included questions on the types of fragrance gifts people would give, their estimated expenditures, for whom people were buying, and where they planned to buy scents.
