Catherine Walsh to newly created post of VP-marketing and product development, licensee Estee Lauder announced March 16. She reports to Robin Burns, president and CEO of Estee Lauder and Donna Karan Cosmetics. Previously, Walsh was Lauder VP-product development worldwide. Catherine Frey is named Donna Karan VP-national sales manager, reporting to Senior VP-Sales and Education John Demsey. Effective Feb. 7, Lauder has eliminated the Donna Karan men's scents (DK Men Fuel and DK Men Unleaded), as well as the recently launched Chaos fragrance and the Watermist women's collection (Petal Watermist, Nectar Watermist, Leaf Watermist and Rain Watermist). Donna Karan's remaining fragrance line-up consists of Donna Karan New York, Cashmere Mist and ancillary bath and body offerings. Lauder obtained exclusive worldwide rights to cosmetics under the Donna Karan/DKNY names in late 1997.
