Executive Summary
Expands Intenscents "library" of organic fruit and vegetable accords for fragrances based on the success of organic plum tomato and organic Italian parsley accords introduced a year ago. Additions include young carrot, fig, honeycomb, sugar beet, Asian ginseng, white peach and red raspberry. Takasago plans to introduce mango and ginger notes in the near future and also is working on milk and grain accords. Intenscents are captured and reproduced using Takasago's noninvasive Crownspace technology. Company focus groups show consumers can distinguish between the scents of organically and traditionally grown produce and prefer the organic scents, according to the fragrance supplier. Takasago's fragrance division is working closely with its flavors entity to track food-related trends; the company is rebuilding its Rockleigh, N.J. headquarters to house the two together.
