DIETHANOLAMINE SAFE IN HAIR DYES, CIR CONCLUDES based on four existing studies reviewed by Donald Belsito, MD, University of Kansas Medical Center, and presented at the Cosmetic Ingredient Review Expert Panel meeting in Washington, D.C. May 19. The study results support CIR's final report on DEA, which concluded the ingredient was safe with qualifications. At its March meeting, the group announced a gradual review of DEA would become a regular part of its quarterly meetings ("The Rose Sheet" March 30, p. 1).
