This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

ASIAN SKIN "MORE PRONE" TO BURNING, STINGING, REDNESS FROM H&BA PRODUCTS than Caucasian complexions, Amway Artistry Skin Care & Cosmetics Product Development R&D Manager Jim Ayres said at the Global HBA Expo held in New York City June 8-10. Based on "empirical information from consumers," Amway has found that Asian skin is biologically more sensitive than other complexions and "is more prone to subjective irritations." Ayres focused his presentation on Asia because the region has been Amway's "biggest...growth [area] in skin care and cosmetics...in the last 10 years" and has the largest "differences in customer preferences and...needs" compared to the U.S.
