ZOTOS ACQUIRES LAMAUR PROFESSIONAL BRANDS, INCLUDING APPLE PECTIN, sold in open distribution in stores such as Sally Beauty Supply and Beauty Mart, the Shiseido division announced July 15. The $11 mil. purchase price also includes the Vita-E and Nucleic-A brands, which are available to consumers in beauty supply stores, and the strictly professional line Pativa, which will be marketed under Shiseido's Bezi Exclusive Line Division. Zotos International estimates the addition of the Lamaur brands will help it reach sales of more than $160 mil. in 1998. Apple Pectin, Vita-E and Nucleic-A generated $17 mil. in sales in 1997. The three brands will be marketed under Zotos' Open Line Division.
