Executive Summary

Routine reporting deadlines approaching for a number of states' volatile organic compound regulations, CTFA Environmental Science Director Joyce Graf reminded scientific conference attendees. California's progress reports for hairspray VOC reductions are due Jan. 1 and May 1 in preparation for the 55% VOC limit effective June 1. The state's annual report on antiperspirants/deodorants is due March 1. In Texas, any new antiperspirant/deodorant products under or any changes to VOC percentages must be filed by Jan. 1. New York's triennial reports for hairsprays and antiperspirant/ deodorants are due by June 1. The Environmental Protection Agency's national VOC reduction rule requires a one-time report due Dec. 10, Graf reminded CTFA members. The report should be submitted to the regional EPA offices, based on the location of company headquarters
