Executive Summary
New York Assembly bill requiring expiration dates on sunscreen products introduced by Harvey Weisenberg (D-Dist. 20) Jan. 6. Bill A 455 would require "clear and conspicuous" labeling indicating the month and year the sunscreen is no longer "viable or effective," the language reads. Any transgression could result in a fine of no more than $250 per violation. The bill was referred to the Committee on Consumer Affairs and Protection. Weisenberg, who works as a lifeguard out of session, has introduced a similar bill every session since 1995, but has faced opposition from Estee Lauder, Pfizer and American Home Products
