Executive Summary
Indiana bill would prohibit the sale of cosmetics, drugs or devices at flea markets unless authorized by the manufacturer or distributor. House bill 1619 was introduced Jan. 21 by Mary Kay Budak (R-Dist. 20) and sent to the Committee on Consumer Affairs. If passed, the legislation would cut back on the sale of diverted fragrances and cosmetics. A companion bill in the Senate (S 453) was introduced Jan. 13 by Greg Server (R-Dist. 50). The issue appears to have bipartisan support; a similar measure, H 1495, was introduced Jan. 19 by Democrat Michael Dvorak (Dist. 8)
