Cosmetic Compendium containing requirements for advertising, labeling, composition and safety of cosmetic products in South Africa expected to be issued "fairly quickly," CTFA South Africa Technical Director Wally Hopton announces at the Colipa-sponsored Mutual Understanding meeting in Malta April 10-13. Sections within the guidelines will cover advertising, sunscreens, alpha hydroxy acids and cellulite products. Regulations for hair care products and skin lighteners also are expected. The existing South African Bureau of Standards for sunscreens is being updated and will be complete by the end of 2000, Hopton says
