Executive Summary
FDA's Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition should "step up its efforts in harmonization" so that cosmetics labeling is "consistent and easily understood by the consumer," the Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers and Distributors maintains in comments submitted to the agency July 28 regarding program priorities for 2001. The trade association urges FDA to consider the needs of small business owners in new regulation implementation and encourages the establishment of an incentive program and online registration to further enhance the Cosmetic Voluntary Registration Program.
