Executive Summary
Perfume sales up 12.1% to $267.7 mil. ([Euro]286.9 mil.) for 2000 based on constant exchange rates. Strong fragrance sales were attributed to U.S. launch of Hugo Boss and Giorgio perfumes at beginning of year and strong sales of Thierry Mugler A*Men and Chrome by Azzaro, firm says. Skin care sales up 8.2% to $395.7 mil. ([Euro]424.1 mil.) in light of "buoyant" activity in skin care, "a success achieved without any major launches." Makeup sales fell 2% to $74 mil. ([Euro]79.4 mil.). Overall cosmetics sales jump 8.2% to $737.5 mil. ([Euro]790.4 mil.) in 2000, firm announces. Consolidated sales were up 7.8% to $775.9 mil. ([Euro]831.5 mil.)
