First underwater scent captured using adapted "headspace" technology to digitally transfer scent, fragrance supplier says. In collaboration with Ecole Superieur du Science Agronomique in Paris, Quest team including Chief Perfumer Claude Dir traveled to Nosy Hara, an island off the coast of Madagascar, to study region's estimated native 12,000 species, firm notes. As a result of the expedition, a range of fragrance notes have been added to Quest's portfolio, including "true water" scents of coral and "ferny depths" of rainforest pools.
