FDA revises import alert #53-06 "Automatic detention of cosmetics containing illegal colors" Aug. 23 to include attachment identifying list of firms whose products can be detained without physical examination. Although initially issued in 1985, "problems with eye makeup products and other cosmetic products have continued and the list of responsible firms has grown," FDA says. Among products listed are Colgate-Palmolive bath bar soap and Procter & Gamble Zest bath bars from Mexico. Import alert #53-19 "Detention without physical examination of henna based skin color" also is revised to include updated list of companies whose product may be detained
