Executive Summary
Fine fragrance sales showed signs of recovery with double-digit local currency growth in the first quarter on "successful introduction of new business," Geneva, Switzerland fragrance and flavors supplier reports in April 11 1sales release. Consumer Products business began third consecutive year of positive growth with sales increasing high single digits in local currencies. Fragrance division sales, however, fell 2.6% to $203.9 mil. in Swiss Francs (CHF1=$.72). Fragrance ingredients business unit experienced "marginal" growth in the quarter. Declining sales in the segment are anticipated in the coming months due to the phase out of sunscreen filters, Givaudan says.
