Executive Summary
Motion for European Parliament resolution on the European Commission Environment & Health Action Plan 2004-2010 is approved during a Feb. 23 plenary session. Authored by Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety member Frederique Ries, the report proposes a number of amendments to the plan, such as recommendation that EC give "urgent consideration" to restricting the marketing and use of substances like phthalates. The plan also should initiate a biomonitoring system to measure exposure to environmental contaminants in relation to infectious diseases, motion states.
