Maybelline honors women who educate

Executive Summary
Maybelline New York, in collaboration with People, People en Espanol and Essence magazines, is awarding $10,000 to the educational cause represented by each of "ten inspirational women who have made a difference in their communities through the power of education." In addition, honorees' pictures and stories will be featured in People's Nov. 5 issue and the December issues of People en Espanol and Essence. The magazines announced the contest in September. Honorees, selected by judges from each publication, include Lois Frankel, founder of MOSTE (Motivating Our Students Through Education), "a mentoring organization that provides inner-city girls with positive role models and guidance to a better future;" Marcelina Fernandez of the College Assistance Migrant Program, which assists students who are migratory or seasonal farmworkers (or children of such workers) enrolled in their first year of undergraduate studies; and Lynne Holden, co-founder of Mentoring in Medicine, which pairs minority health-care professionals with student sin urban areas...
