With opening of 13 new stores in its fiscal second quarter, Romeoville, Ill.-based Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance saw sales climb 9.8 percent to $274 million, driving a 56 percent increase in second-quarter profits. Sales at stores open at least 14 months decreased 1.7 percent. The chain, which carries both prestige and mass cosmetics, fragrances and hair tools, now operates 333 stores nationwide
