Unilever names new global president: Vindi Banga, president of global foods, home and personal care since 2008, is leaving Unilever, firm announces March 18. Banga has been with the company for 33 years, joining its executive board in 2005 as president of foods after serving as chairman and managing director of Hindustan Unilever Ltd, "India's largest consumer products company," and then as president of Unilever Home and Personal Care, Asia, firm says. He is credited with "a significant improvement in [the company's] innovation results, delivering bigger ideas with global scale." He will be replaced by Michael B. Polk, currently president of Unilever's $18 bil. business in North America and Latin America. Polk joined the firm in 2003 after 16 years with Kraft Foods.
