COCAMIDE DEA IS SAFE AS USED IN RINSE-OFF PRODUCTS and safe at concentrations of up to 10% in leave-on products, the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) expert panel decided in a revised final report issued at the panel's Dec. 12-13 meeting in Washington, D.C. Cocamide DEA "should not be used as an ingredient in cosmetic products in which N-nitroso compounds are formed," the panel also concluded.
