Executive Summary
CIR will gather new and unpublished data on dibutyl phthalates to decide if re-review is necessary following new data from the National Center for Environmental Health suggesting phthalate exposure is higher and more common than expected, Cosmetic Ingredient Review Director Alan Andersen announces at expert panel meeting in Arlington, Va. Dec. 4-5. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and Centers For Disease Control & Prevention will conduct further studies on phthalates exposure in humans and sources of exposure, but not carcinogenicity potential as reported in "The Rose Sheet" Oct. 23, p. 8 and Dec. 4, p. 3
