Revlon taps Ennis for CEO

Executive Summary

Beauty firm's board of directors names Alan T. Ennis President and CEO, firm announces April 29. In his Revlon career Ennis has served as president of Revlon International, executive VP and chief financial officer. He succeeds David Kennedy, who will become Revlon's vice chairman. Dubbed CEO in 2006, Kennedy was charged with leading the firm's turnaround plan, designed to strengthen core Revlon and Almay brands and weed out underperforming products (1"The Rose Sheet" Nov. 13, 2006, p. 3). The firm taps Chris Elshaw for executive VP and chief operating officer, and Steven Berns for executive VP, chief financial officer and treasurer. Ennis, Kennedy and Elshaw appointments are effective May 1; Berns will join firm later in the month, Revlon says. "This planned leadership transition ensures that we have highly capable executives to continue to lead our business. I am most confident that [Ennis] is best positioned to lead the company, as he has strong leadership capability, strategic ability and financial acumen," Kennedy says
